George met Andrew Ridgeley at Bushey Meads School as a teenager and they went on to form a pop duo named ‘Wham!’ in 1981.

Before the formation of ‘Wham!’, George along with Andrew Ridgeley and his brother Paul, Andrew Leaver, and David Mortimer formed a short-lived ska band called ‘The Executive’.

4 of his singles as part of ‘Wham!’ such as Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go, Freedom, I’m Your Man, and The Edge of Heaven were number 1 on the UK and Irish music charts.
